Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk. This role will play a crucial part in managing our financial operations and ensuring smooth administrative processes.

Position Overview: The Accounting clerk will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts receivable and payable, and providing general administrative support. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and exceptional attention to detail. This position reports directly to the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing customers, recording payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
  • Handle accounts payable functions, such as reviewing invoices, verifying expense coding, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve any payment or billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as answering the accounting phone line, interacting with bank personnel, contacting insurance companies for contract renewals, etc.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by management, contributing to the overall success of the finance and administrative functions.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least two years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bookkeeping roles, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, automated ERP system) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, financial statements, and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities concurrently.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling financial and sensitive information.
